Personal Education Allowance (PEA)

Personal Education Allowance (PEA)

PEA requests should be discussed during PEP meetings. It is then the responsibility of the social worker to send a copy of the PEP with a PEA request form to the Virtual School. PEP's must clearly show why the request is needed to help support the young person with their educational progress.

Once a PEA request has been agreed by the Virtual school for a young person/child and the foster carer will be purchasing /paying for the item or service, the carer must send copies of all receipt of payment to the above person who will arrange reimbursement directly into the carer's bank account.

Carers must not make any purchases until the PEA request has been agreed officially by the virtual school team. If the carer has not received a payment from Royal Borough of Greenwich before then a bank detail form must be completed (this form is available via the virtual school term admin) with the carers details and also a hand written signature, this original form should then be sent to the Virtual School admin alone with copies of receipts. If schools are requesting payment for a PEA request the school must send their invoice to the Virtual School address with copies of any receipts also.
